I haven’t photographed a newborn baby in a while, so was thrilled to meet little Devon.  He was such a good boy, even though we passed him between Mom and Dad, dressed and undressed him and took him outside on the hottest day EVER!

We worked out before the shoot that Robyn’s maiden name was Semple – thereby relating us (OK….maybe removed 100 times!)  I don’ have any cousins, so I casually adopted her :)

Maya has the sweetest little smile that totally melts hearts.  She is going to be such a beauty when she grows up....

This little girl has only seen me with a big black box in front of my face.  I'm either doing serious damage here and we're going to end up with a camera-phobic child, or she's going to be one very comfortable child model!

Anyway - here's her THIRD set of photos (she turned 5 weeks old today).

Again, the photos have a grey tint to them (courtesy of weebly), but check them out on my face book page if you'd like: http://www.facebook.com/DerrynSemplePhotography.

Nicola and Simon are both from New Zealand and have just had their first little boy in Singapore.

Nicola told me before hand that Simon was not to hot on having his photo shot.  He is after all a typical big 'rugby thug' - but I must say that he held that boy in his arms with as much ease as I can imagine him holding a rugby ball before a pass. (OOOH, I just had a photo shoot idea!!)

Simon - I kinda lied when I said I'd just do one or two with you, sorry! ;) But I think they look great, and I hope that in years to come you both treasure these photos and remember this special time with your little boy.

You might remember the cute maternity shoot that I did with Helen and Jason last month...well - it was a GIRL and she is beautiful!!

Little Cameron was born with a full head of healthy dark hair and the most active little arms I've seen.  I'm sure she is going to be a salsa dancer when she grows up.

The first few photos were taken at hospital when she was not even a day old, and the rest were taken when she was almost 2 weeks old.

Too adorable for words.

I had a lovely morning with the beautiful Mathilda.  Her mom Ruth was busy with a masseuse having a postnatal massage (which everyone raves about by the way!) so we had a champion Dad helping us with the posing :)

I'll be doing a second shoot with Mathilda, Mom, Dad and big sister next month and am REALLY looking forward to it.

Watch this space....

P.S - I apologize for the funny grey tone to these images, weebly does this.  If you look at them on my Facebook Page you'll see that they have a much warmer colouring.

I've been ITCHING to get these pics edited, but my computer was in for repairs this week.  I'm so grateful to have it back (slightly scary how much so) and so excited to get this post up.

After having done a maternity as well as a New Born session with Gina and Luke, it was wonderful to meet each of their parents who were in Singapore visiting - it was almost as though all the puzzle pieces had come together, making the picture complete. (It was touching)

These were done at the Singapore Botanical Gardens.  Wonderful Place - I was spoilt for choice as far as backdrops were concerned.

Each and every time I hold a new born baby, I find myself in awe….how is it so small? How did it live inside that tummy?  It's so fragile but it's so strong - it's so cute but also so smelly. Babies are miracles to me. They truly are.

Hanlie's twins are already a month old - isn't it crazy how time flies?!!

I am so glad that I bought this fur, I think it looks great with Isabella's little New Born Body. She's such a cutie, I wanted to eat her!

Major Lessons learnt on this shoot:
1.  Keep the nappy on as much as possible...New Borns poop A LOT!
2.  Some babies don't like being naked...don't rush them.
3.  Have a lot of time spare to sit and have a coffee while mom feeds or settles her baby.

Isabella was not impressed with me and even gave me the middle finger at one point (see below) GASP, but I'm chuffed with the few goodies that I got.  She's a real sweetie and I'm looking forward to going back to photograph the extended family.

They've arrived and they are beautiful!!

Hanlie wants to wait until the twins are a little chubbier and looking more like cherubs for her official photo shoot, but I couldn't help but sneak in a few during my visit yesterday.  I can't imagine how they could get ANY cuter!!!
